A phyto-sociological survey was conducted in Badalkhole sanctuary at northern hill region of Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Anumber of plant species was been identified. The floristic diversity consisted of 44 families. Among these, 22 trees, 16 herbs and 7 were climbers in nature. The frequencyof Shorearobusta was maximumcomparedtoother common species in an upper story flora, whereas vegetation in under story frequency of Woodfordia fruticosa was noticed maximum, followed by Ziziphusnumularia, Gardeneaturgida, Grewia hirsute and Caloytropis procera. The study also revealed that the tribal Pahari Kornwa which lives in the sanctuary has the vast knowledge of the floristic diversity for therapeutic use.
