A field experiment consisted four inorganic nutrient levels and six organic nutrient sources with 24 treatment combinations was conducted in split plot design with three replications during kharif season of 2004 at Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, Maharashtra to study the effect of organic and inorganic nutrient management on productivity of rice (Oryza sativa L.) under upland eco-system. The treatment with recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF, 80: 50: 50 kg NPK ha−1) recorded significantly higher yield attributes, more grain and straw yield as well as maximum uptake of N, P and K. However, incorporation of Glyricidia @ 10 t ha−1 maximized yield parameters and yields as well as nutrient uptake. Rice crop grown after green manuring with Glyricidia (10 t ha−1) along with 100% of the recommended dose of N, P and K also improved the grain, straw and biological yield of rice, closely followed by application of neem cake (2.5 t ha−1) blended with 100% of RDF. Higher uptake of nutrients by rice crop also observed with the application of 100% of RDF and raising of Glyricidia (10 t ha−1) as green manure.
