A survey was undertaken during 2010–2011 to study the constraints in sheep farming as perceived by the farmers in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. Data was collected using pre-tested interview schedule from 576 sheep farmers selected from 96 villages through multistage stratified random sample technique. Disease attack (81.25%), availability of breeding rams (77.95%), shrinkage of grazing land (72.92%), high lamb mortality (69.97%), exploitation by middlemen (62.67%), in accessibility to credit facilities (59.38%) and collapse of wool market (54.34%) were the foremost constraints perceived by the sheep farmers.
