Abstract

A field experiment was carried out during rabi season of 2010–11 at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh to study the effect of phosphorus (0, 20, 40 and 60 kg ha−1) and zinc (0, 5 and 10 kg ha−1) on growth yield and quality of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) cv. ‘KWR-108 ’. Growth attributes, yields and protein content in chickpea were influenced by P and Zn application and 60 kg P and 10 kg Zn ha−1 gave highest seed yield resulting in 46 and 18% higher over respective control.
