Abstract

Experiment on neem-based formulations (2 and 5%), viz. neem leaf extract, neem seed kernel extract, neem seed extract, neem seed coat extract along with commercial neem formulation (nimbicidine @ 0.5%) was carried out during rabi 2008–09 and 2009–10 to assess their efficacy against bud fly (Dasyneura lini Barnes) in linseed (Linum usitatissimum Linn.) cv. ‘Neelum ’. Nimbicidine @ 0.5% and neem seed extract @ 5% gave lowest incidence of bud fly i.e. 13.8 and 18.2%, which recorded 72.5 and 63.7% reduction over the control, respectively. The highest seed yield (1176.2 kg ha−1) was obtained with nimbicidine @ 0.5% treated plots followed by neem seed extract @ 5% (1080.8 kg ha−1).
