A field experiment was conducted during pre-kharif season of 2008 and 2009 to assess the response of different sources of nitrogen and row spacing on yield and quality of baby corn (Zea mays) at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Application of 75% N through urea + 25% N through FYM gave highest yield than the other sources of N. Chlorophyll content in leaves, protein, carbohydrate and sugars contents and nutrient uptake in baby corn significantly improved with application of 75% N through urea + 25% N through FYM. Row spacing of 40 cm × 15 cm increased yield, quality parameters and nutrient uptake by baby corn.
