Evaluations of entomopathogenic fungi and botanicals against tea mosquito bug Helopeltis antonii Signoret

Abstract

The evaluations of entomopathogenic fungi and botanicals assessed on nymphal stages of H. antonii under laboratory condition observed that fungus, Beauveria bassiana (4 g l−1) observed to be most effective and recorded 91.67% nymphal mortality after 10 days. This was followed by Verticillium lecanii (4 g l−1) and Ritha fruit extract (10%), which recorded 78.33 and 71.67% nymphal mortality, respectively. Metarhizium anisopliae (4 g l−1) was least effective among the fungi imposed against the nymphs gave only 66.67% mortality. The botanicals, undi (Calophyllum) oil (5%) and Karanj oil (5%) were recorded 68.33 and 65% nymphal morality after 10 days of application.
