Improvement in blackgram production among the beneficiaries of nfsm in southern Rajasthan

Abstract

The present study was conducted in Banswara and Udaipur district of Southern Rajasthan. Total 80 blackgram beneficiary farmers were selected on the basis of random sampling method from the identified districts. The study was found that out of 80 respondents after implementation of National Food Security Mission (NFSM), 39 (48.75%) respondents and before implementation of NFSM, 33 (41.25%) respondents were observed in medium level of yield group. Whereas, 36 blackgram growers after becoming beneficiaries ofNFSM (45%) and only 9 (11.25%) blackgram growers before NFSM could be placed under high level of blackgram yield group. It was further noted that only 5 (6.25%) blackgram growers after NFSM and 38 (47.50%) before NFSM respondents found in low level of yield group.
