Integrated fish farming can play a significant role in food security and providing livelihood to million of rural people of India. It is a diversified and coordinated approach, where agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry are combined (singly or in combination) with fish culture in order to achieve higher production in a unit area. Thus integrated farming can provide higher economic stability and sustainability to rural folks. Moreover, it is also an environmentally friendly process. Systematic analysis of contributions of each component and identification of critical gaps in the production process can significantly help and improve the fish productivity and overall income of the small and marginal farmer
