Integrated aquaculture for smallholder farming system for improved food and nutritional security

Integrated fish farming can play a significant role in food security and providing livelihood to million of rural people of India. It is a diversified and coordinated approach, where agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry are combined (singly or in combination) with fish culture in order to achieve higher production in a unit area. Thus integrated farming can provide higher economic stability and sustainability to rural folks. Moreover, it is also an environmentally friendly process.
