Abstract

Uttarakhand state is bestowed with a unique biodiversity due to a wide range of habitats. Many studies report that these habitats are at risk due to the rise in global temperature and an upward march of various species is envisaged. Change in species composition, shrinkage of glaciers and invasion of alien species coupled with frequent natural calamities in Uttarakhand make the state highly vulnerable. The present article tried to discuss the response of Uttarakhand biodiversity in warming world along with measures and management steps required to cope with global warming crisis.
