A study on genetic variability and component analysis was undertaken in kalazira collection. The variability was assessed by analyzing the traits, namely, plant height, tillers/plant, primary and secondary umbels/plant, grains/primary and secondary umbels, straw yield/plant and grain yield/plant. The correlation and path coefficient analysis indicated that grain yield/plant is positively associated with all the traits except grains/primary and secondary umbels. Primary umbels/plant, secondary umbels/plant and straw yield/plant were the most important parameters contributing to grain yield/plant in kalazira crop.
