Abstract

The correlation and path coefficient were worked out in Europen radishes genotypes procured from the Crop Genetic Resources”- the Netherlands and India. Highly significant and positive correlation was observed for average root weight with seed germination, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, root top ratio, root length, root diameter and dry matter, suggesting that these are the major yield contributing characters. The result of path analysis revealed that characters like root length, root diameter and number of leaves showed maximum direct effect towards average root weight. Hence, these traits should be given more emphasis while selecting genotypes for yield improvement.
