Power distribution continues to be the weakest link in the supply chain of the power sector. Most distribution-utilities are making major losses as a consequence of expensive poor infrastructure, Lack of sufficient IT related infrastructure, inefficient operations and lack of Insight Planning of Feeder and Transformer, These losses, in turn, prevent them from making the significant improvement in the quality of the power supply-and to prepare for the Continually increasing peak demand of 340 GW by 2030 and wider penetration of renewable energy. In this paper, we would like to share the methodology being followed at Tata Power-DDL for an efficient Planning of 11 kV Feeder and Distribution Transformers using IT/OT.
