Abstract

Power quality is a MAJOR concern for utility and grid operators due to a large Penetration of intermittent and Indeterministic renewable power generation sources. One of the major concerns, when designing and controlling grid-feeding photovoltaic (PV) inverters is meeting the grid requirements. Central Electricity authority (Technical standards for connectivity to the Grid,2019) grid requirements demand low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability and maintaining grid functionality during fault conditions. In order to meet these requirements low voltage ride through control algorithm was developed, verified using MATLAB Simulink and validated through Hardware in Loop testing in RTDS system. This paper gives an overview of the control strategies adopted and the design of controller for Low voltage ride through. The proposed controller has been digitally implemented using TMS320F2812 based DSP.
