The activity budgeting of Golden Langur (Trachypithecus geei) in captivity of the Assam State Zoo-Cum-Botanical Garden was done for a period of six months from July to the end of December 2009. A total number of six numbers of individuals comprising of 3 adult males, 1 adult female and 2 male juvenile were observed during the present study. The artificial food supplied to the species was taken into consideration while studying the behavior. This study was a preliminary step to study the behavior patterns of Golden Langur specifically to study the habitat utilization in captivity. Significant comparisons in behavior patterns of the species in wild and in captivity is discussed and highlighted wherever required thereby opening avenues for future research.
