Abstract

Climate change has varied implications and its effects have touched the silk industry of India. Of the different varieties of silk produced in the country Muga is produced mostly in Assam. The state produces 94% of the total muga production in the country. This pride and glory of Assam has, however come under severe threat due to changing climatic conditions. The present paper is a humble attempt to analyze this impact. The findings and analysis also supports this notion.
