Abstract

Technical education is the need of the hour. It should be mentioned that, along with the Govt. technical institutions many private institutions have been emerged since the last decade in our state. The concept of privatisation is widely used in the literature to show that more number of self financing institutions is to be established to reduce the burden on the state. All over the Assam, Kamrup district can be said as the place of significant in the expansion of the technical education. Now a day, various Private technical institutions have been established here to meet with the needs and demands of the students. By observing this situation, the investigator has tried to study the attitudes of the teachers towards privatisation of higher technical education through this paper. At the same time it is hoped that the study will be a significant one to build a healthy attitude to give their contribution in the field of technical education. Kamrup district was selected as the study area and 120 sample teachers were randomly selected from the higher technical institutions. The investigator has used a self structured attitude scale based on Likert type to measure the attitudes of the teachers towards the privatization of technical education.
