The field experiment was conducted at the Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad on black clay soil to study the response of rajmash (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) to the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium during rabi in the Northern Transition Zone with three levels of nitrogen (40, 80 and 120 kg N/ha), three levels of phosphorus (25, 50 and 75 kg P2Os/ha) and two levels of potassium (30 and 60 kg K20/ha) with an absolute control (0: 0: 0 kg N: P: K/ha). The results of the investigations revealed that significantly higher grain yield was recorded with 120: 75: 60 kg N: P2Og: K2O/ha fertilization (1375 kg/ha) which was on par with 80: 75: 60 kg N: P2Os: K2O/ha (1352 kg/ha) and 80: 75: 30 kg N: P2Os: K2O/ha (1337 kg/ha). Nutrient uptake also significantly increased with the increasing rates of fertilization.
