Zygambella phosphophila S.Nagalakshmi and A.Subrahm, Gen. & Sp. Nov. is described. It resembles Rhizopodopsis in having umbellate sporangiophores but differs from it in the structure of zygospores, which are similar to those found in Zygorhynchus. Morphological and culture characters of Phosphophila are presented.
