Gulzar's merit as a poet rests on his inclination to nature and natural language used to express the liveliness of nature. His choice of Hindustani language to express his emotions strikes the head and heart of the reader. He represents nature and reminds the reader the relationship between the literature and the environment. The present paper intends to discuss the term eco criticism and exhibit Gulzar's greatness in talking through ‘nature’, leaving the readers to brood over his place in nature. The daily and seasonal activities overlooked by common man are given creative thinking at his hands. He can be studied through the prism of his imagery. His images come from surrounding nature which has long lasting impression. Gulzar has produced various unusual and striking images from nature prominent among which are the images of moon, death, leaves, wind, day and night. The paper endeavors to portray nature imagery in Gulzar to acquaint readers about the poet's sensibility towards nature.
