India is a rural country and most of the people live in villages. But due to industrialization, the rural man is being drawn to the city. Therefore, we are being dragged towards slavery by designing for self-reliance. Therefore, it seems that Mahatma Gandhi introduced the concept of Gram Swarajya for rural development.
