Abstract

Adivasi poetry entered the Marathi literary world. It was generally after the seventies that Dalit writers in Maharashtra created poems with Dalit awareness and created a stir in the Marathi literary world. After that, many streams emerged in Marathi poetry from Phule-Ambedkar, Marx Ideology. Tribal poetry entered the Marathi literary world to expose exploitation and misery. Critics of tribal literature consider tribal writing and poetry independent.

In 1982 representative anthology of Adivasi poetry was published under the title ‘Mohol’. At that time Adivasi poetry had already created a separate place in Marathi literature. In the study of poetry Adivasi poetry was included. It was very important thing for crating a separate Adivasi identity.
