The article provides an analytical presentation of the evolution of personnel administration in India. Various features of personnel administration in different phases of Indian administration have been briefly covered. The Mauryan period, the Mughal period, the British period, the major periods of Indian history discuss various aspects of personnel administration. It is difficult to cover such a big period in an article; the author has tried to do justice with the theme.
