Abstract

Tracing the concept of Good Governance, in its various dimensions, including it's historical perspective, the author attempts to show how Good governance in municipal services is based on efficient delivery of services, effectiveness of those services and accountability. The present study makes an attempt to examine the Bhiwani municipal council's role as good governance with special reference to water supply and sanitation services, on the basis of views of the citizens hailing from the Bhiwani Municipal Council, gathered randomly, by interview. The results of the study are discussed, and meaningful conclusions are drawn. It also offers suggestions for ensuring good governance in urban water supply and sanitation.
