E-Governance in Education: An Appraisal of EDUSAT System in Haryana State

Abstract

Education has remained the core issue of concern for governments since ages. After the independence, special attention has been given to education in India. The use of information communication technology in all sphere of human life paved the way for E-Governance. The EDUSAT system is a mode of applying E-Governance in education in the country including the State of Haryana. It has curtailed the bureaucratic hurdles in accessibility of education to the far-flanged areas. It has brought fundamental changes in the functioning of education system and provided quality of education on very economic rate. However, the lack of trained manpower, cultural hesitation, lack of proper monitoring and administrative ethics are the factors which have adversely affected its performance despite huge investment.
