The study investigated the influence of decision-making and motivation as strategies for improving productivity and job-satisfaction among tertiary institutions’ academic staff of Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The study population consisted of all 647 academic staff of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Stratified sampling method was adopted in choosing 250 respondents. A self-prepared questionnaire was used to generate data from the participants in this study. The data collected through the questionnaires were analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 2008 version. Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis were used in testing the following hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that decision making and motivation culminate in productivity and job satisfaction among the tertiary institutions’ academic staff. It was therefore recommended, inter-alia, that tertiary institutions of learning should formulate appropriate policies on decision-making and motivation, so as to bring about an improved productivity on the quality of educational output to be turned out by the academic staff, which requires job satisfaction in their chosen profession.
