Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to identify how job security effects an employee's job satisfaction and commitment. It will also consider how these influences organisational productivity in the private and public sectors in Jordan. Following a descriptive, field study methodology, this study enrolled 189 private and public-sector employees and expected to identify a positive link between job security, job performance and productivity with these variables being affected by job satisfaction and organisational commitment. The results show that employees who had little job satisfaction or were concerned over their job security or organisational justice caused lower organisational productivity. Therefore, organisational productivity can be improved by offering job security, as this will increase an employee's job satisfaction.
