Abstract

The present study explores a comparison of two paradigms before and after introduction of e-services at union parishad of Bangladesh. In the past paradigm, government employees often ask for documents that are actually not required for decision making in the latest paradigm which people understood by the introduction of Union Digital Center (UDC). UDCs have undoubtedly added a new dimension to the delivery of public services at the grassroots level. According to the findings, UDC provides over a hundred services, the majority of which are dominated by men, with the most prevalent services being birth and death registration and the issuance of various certificates. UDC's services are less time consuming, less expensive, and easier to obtain than traditional modes. Beneficiaries have been glad to have such an organization near them due to a variety of favorable aspects of UDCs. In addition, the centers are confronted with some major obstacles, however these are not uniform across the board; hence, the role of all centers is not diminished. Later, with the shifting trend and growing need, a slight reorganization is required so that the center may effectively and efficiently serve the entire community.
