Street level bureaucrats play a very important role in policy implementation. Success or failure of government policies by and large depends upon the performance of these bureaucrats across the world. In India, street level bureaucrats experience lot of pressure as they are expected to work for large population with meager resources on hand. During the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, street level workers are in the forefront fighting hard to prevent spread of the virus. The present study identifies the need for policy entrepreneurship among the Street level bureaucrats as they make better assessment offield situations and the changes required to be brought about in the public policies for their successful implementation.
