Environment Policy of Bangladesh: A Critical Review on Implementation Scenario

Abstract

The establishment of a ministry and taking national policy was the situational demand after the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) Rio earth summit 1992. Continuous degradation of environment and different dimensions of deterioration are increasing as a result of a new policy already has taken in 2018 with modification. The article will study the implementation scenario of National Environment policy 1992 on the basis of pollution-based sector and some other specific sectors. Alongside the article will create a demonstration between the two policies of ’92 and ’18. Implementation phases of all the strategies under the policy which are involved with the concern ministries and department, so it is operated under the Ministry of Environment and Forest but sector wise other bodies become the implementing agency in order to relevancy.
