Inclusive Growth In India: Major Dimensions

The Indian experience with reforms in the last two decades reveals that while there have been achievements on the economic growth front, inequalities have increased and exclusion continues. The present work emphasises the need for economic reforms with equitable development. It focuses on key inter-related elements of inclusive growth; agriculture, poverty, education, technological improvement, food security and employment, social sector and regional disparities; examining the performance, issues and challenges. The present work analyses various policies, dimensions and programming issues about inclusive growth in India. With indepth overview of human development issues surfaced by various researches, the work outlines certain policy issues pertinent to inclusive growth. It also looks at the issue in broader framework of sectoral social and regional inequalities which form the macro framework for inclusive growth.
