Special Economic Zone's in Rajasthan – As A Tool of Regional Development

Present paper attempts to comprehend the nature and extend of special economic zones (SEZ's) in Rajasthan, while providing insight in key dimensions of SEZ's i.e. distribution, spread and category wise division etc. Another aspect that has been covered in the study is to analysis of the spread of SEZ's by various categories in various administrative divisions (i.e. districts) of Rajasthan. Paper also attempts to make some issues of importance of SEZ's in regional development of the study area. For analysis, total SEZ's have divided in to IT/ITES, Pharma/Biotech, Multi-Products/Multi-Service, Handicrafts and others. Study concludes that the spatial distribution of SEZs in Rajasthan is not at par but most of SEZs are concentrated in few districts, leaving wide uncovered area.
