The recent global financial crisis affected almost all aspect of human life. This paper attempted to explore effects of the global financial crisis on livelihood of rural farmers as well adjustments the agrarian households made in order to cope with the crisis. The study was conducted in Enugu State, Nigeria. Secondary data were used. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Results showed the global financial crisis affected the livelihood of agrarian households in Nigeria. A number of school children dropped out of school. Malnutrition increased as irregular feeding characterized the consumption of more carbohydrate staples. It was recommended among others that government should provide more facilities for sound education and health care to reduce the burden on agrarian households.
