A study of achievement motivation, study habits and academic achievement among secondary school students

Abstract

The impact of achievement motivation, study habits and academic achievement were investigated in a ninth grade high school sample consisting of 250 participants, 132 of whom were females and 118 were males. The data was collected by Deo-Mohan Achievement Motivation Scale And Palsane and Sharma Study Habits Inventory The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and Three-Way Anova (2x2x2 Factorial Experiment).The results revealed that good study habits students have higher level of academic achievement in comparison to the ones with the poor study habits, Moreover this has been found that boys are having better study significant habits in comparison to girls. Again it has been revealed that students with high achievement motivation has high academic achievement in comparison to the ones studying with the low achievement motivation and the boys have higher level of achievement motivation in comparison to girls.
