Abstract

Information Technology is playing a vital role in the modern world. It has revolutionized the way in which we used to live and think. All spheres of life are affected by the use of ICT and internet. The field of education is no exception. One cannot now imagine a world without computers and without information technology. Every aspect of human activity including everyday routine, official life, educational life and business life; everything is influenced by the use of Information Technology. In recent years, the use of computer as educational tool has become more and more popular. It focuses on the importance of incorporating new technology in classroom teaching. The teachers of mathematics need to update their methodology of teaching and strive to create a constructive mix of technology and education. Only then we can keep up with the growing demands of modern society and global competition. The study undertaken here seeks to check whether achievement in mathematics depends on use of technology or not. The present study is an effort to compare the effectiveness of E-learning with traditional method of teaching Mathematics to VIII grade students.
