Effectiveness of Selected e-lectures Related to Research Methodology and Statistics in Terms of Achievement of Students in Research Methodology

Abstract

The study was conducted on M.Ed, M.Phil. and Ph.D. course work students studying in the same institution, namely, School of Education, D.A.V.V, Indore (M.P) for the academic year 2012–13. The objective of the study was to compare the mean scores of Achievement in Research Methodology and Statistics of the experimental group and the control group by taking Pre-Achievement in Research Methodology and Statistics as covariate. The present study was Quasi- experimental in nature, designed on the lines of Non-equivalent Control Group Design by Campbell and Stanley. The sample comprised of 91 students, out of which 24 M.Ed. students and 9 M.Phil. students constituted the experimental group whereas 58 Ph.D. coursework students constituted the control group. The Achievement in Research Methodology and Statistics of M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. course work students was assessed with the help of Achievement Test developed by the researcher. The finding of the study was that e-lectures on Research Methodology and Statistics did significantly enhance the Achievement in Research Methodology and Statistics of students pursuing research degree as compared to Traditional Teaching.

The Study found e-lectures to be significantly more effective in enhancing Achievement in Research Methodology and Statistics of post graduate and research students as compared to conventional lectures.
