A Study of Teaching Aptitude of Rural and Urban Primary School Teachers

The present study aimed to know the extent of teaching aptitude of primary school teachers and effect of rural-urban locality on their teaching aptitude. The study was of descriptive nature. Randomly selected 300 primary school teachers of Pilibhit district of U.P. were taken as sample of the study. Teaching Aptitude Test (TAT) by Jai Prakash and R.P. Srivastava (1973) was administered. Data were analysed by using t-test. The results showed that majority of the primary school teachers were in the middle group of teaching aptitude. It is also found that locality (rural and urban) of primary school teachers had no significant effect on their teaching aptitude.
