The present study examines drivers, dimensions and the consequences of employee engagement to determine the efficacy and relative importance of different Functional and Emotional Employee Engagement Drivers. It also studies the relationship between employee engagement and employee performance, long-term employment, the level of position, style of leadership, and impact of targets. 65 professionals working at different levels in varied forms of organizations throughout India were administered a standardized questionnaire to collect the primary data, which was analysed and statistically tested through Principal Component Analysis and Pearson Correlation and MANCOVA analysis to establish the different hypotheses. Three factors namely: effective leadership, focus on employee satisfaction, and focus on customer satisfaction were identified as key constituents of employee engagement. It was found that emotional drivers like effective leadership play a predominant role in establishing engagement of workforce with their organization. It was observed that there exists a relationship between employee engagement and employee performance and the targets that were assigned to the respondents too had a significant impact on the employee engagement.
