I had an opportunity to visit and study Chinese fire protection system through the China fire exposition and conference during Oct. 26–29, 2006 in Beijing. Over 100 delegates from Indian fire protection community visited this exposition. Institution of fire engineers (India) sponsored and partly financed visit of eight council members. This team helped to get a bird eye view of fire technology in China resulting following report. This report gives brief background of conference and, various technical presentations and covers status of fire science and technology in China including various Chinese and Foreign Research and Development, test and evaluation, Approval and certification Laboratories. Information technology, literature and journals on fire Industry is also covering the feature. Chinese fire protection industry is quite advanced and supported directly by ministry of Public security govt. of China. A list of fire manufacturing industry is given at the end and details including their manufacture etc. is available for those who need more information. This article is also supported by a few photographs taken during exhibition, which gives brief account of equipments/machinery and fire safety items with Chinese Industry.
