Abstract

The present note describes the indigenous knowledge of local communities on ethnobotany and ethnozoology of Bankura and Medinipur district. Through structural questionnaire survey a total of 100 respondents from 30 villages were interviewed across different communities. Respondents listed about 46 species of fishes and 23 plants which are used in health care needs of human beings. The findings are more important in view of remedial measures.
