Abstract

Training is the set of activities carried out in the organization to enhance the knowledge, skill and attitude of the participants or employees by providing them with instructions and information to perform specific tasks. It is used to bridges the current job requirements and the current job specification of the employees. According to Training Magazine’s 2020 Industry Training Report, the average company in the U.S. spent $ 1,111 per employee [1]. Considering the time, energy, capital and other resources it becomes important for any organization to evaluate their training programs and determine how does it affect the performance and behavior of its employees. This study is aimed to determine the factors that affect the online training’s training effectiveness and the perception of the employees towards these factors. A survey questionnaire was used to gather data on questions pertaining to different factors that might affect the training effectiveness. The questionnaire was circulated to 140 potential respondents, out of which 86 responded to the survey i.e. 61% response rate. The results of the survey suggests that majority of the respondents had a perception that the five factors derived through factor analysis impact their training effectiveness in the online training. This research would therefore help the trainers to design their training in a manner that the trainees feel confident enough about the training effectiveness.
