The English language is the need of today’s Indian society. Teachers are key change agents in the process of building inclusive schools. Because they spend the most time with their students in the classroom, they have a profound impact on students’ identity and learning. Teachers are often confined with conflicting goals they should achieve, for example, ensuring participation of all students and at the same time do well on the high-stakes assessments.
