Supervised industrial training online monitoring system with short message service (SMS) notification

Abstract

The Technological University of the Philippines Visayas, has three (3) colleges that provide industrial training programs for students as mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This study aimed to design and develop an online monitoring system with short message service (SMS) notification for supervised industrial training. There were twenty (20) respondents from IT experts who participated in the study, and 16-item standardized usability questionnaires from the Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) were established. The research design used in this study is descriptive-developmental research. The mean and standard deviation were used for data interpretation. According to the findings of the study, online registration has a dedicated hosting connection through the webserver of the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas. In terms of the usability of the system, the Overall Satisfaction outcome has a mean score of 1.27, which is interpreted as strongly agree. The majority of the respondents for System Quality answered strongly agree, with a mean score of 1.26. The mean score of 1.28 for Information Quality has resulted in strongly agree. The respondents rate the Interface Quality as highly acceptable, with a mean score of 1.32. It is logical to say, therefore that, the Industrial Training Online Monitoring System with SMS Notification is functional and operational.
