Technological and people capabilities building is an ongoing process and needs continuous efforts. Implementation of new technologies and proper strategic planning in accordance with the vision and mission of an organization is found to enhance manufacturing processes, as these are directly responsible for the performance. Indian automobile components manufacturing industry has come out of age and now emerging as a strong and matured industry. To continue the claim as a global player in global automobile components manufacturing sector, technological and people capabilities have to be given their due importance. Correlation analysis has been done. The hypotheses testing for selected variables have been done by using stepwise regression analysis. In the analysis, some hypotheses of association were rejected. The validated model shows the relationships in the selected variables. Model based on selected variables has been analyzed to know their impact on the performance of an organization. The implications of the model on technology absorption are that the automobile component manufacturing organizations needs to prepare them in terms of technological and people capabilities as these are the main actors in technology absorption process.
