Abstract

The paper considers the effect of radiative heat transfer to an unsteady o w of a conducting optically thin uid between two parallel plates. On the basis of certain simplifying assumptions, the uid equations of continuity, momentum and energy are reduced to mathematical terms, and closed-form analytical solutions of the velocity distribution and energy are obtained. The overall analysis of the study shows that the o w variables are affected mainly by radiation and convection parameters in addition to the magnetic factor. The manifestations of these effects are demonstrated analytically and quantitatively. Also the shear stress and heat ux at the walls are discussed quantitatively.
