Abstract

The study employs Almond and Verba's theoretical framework of political culture to describe the input, system and output dimension of political culture analysing the attitude of students towards formal politics, the political orientation of the students towards democratic principles and other political ideologies and their level of conviction in democratic institutions. The students are critical citizens and active in political participation. The findings suggest that the students of Tezpur University have high indicators of participant culture.
