This article focuses on the recommendations made by the National Education Policy 2020 regarding teacher education programmes and teacher education institutions. With attention on teacher education reform, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in India represents a revolutionary vision for the education sector. The present abstract delves into significant issues that have surfaced from the application of NEP 2020 in the field of teacher education. A four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) is being introduced by the policy, with a focus on technological integration, professional standards, ongoing professional development, and a multidisciplinary approach. Although there is hope for these reforms, There are several of substantial issues that require to be addressed, including the require for infrastructure support, potential resistance to change, and regional inequities. To successfully achieve NEP 2020's objectives, it is also imperative to address difficulties related to bridging the digital gap, inadequate finance, and larger socioeconomic issues.
