Opportunities for vocational learning are essential for developing skills and increasing employability. The distinction between theoretical knowledge and actual skills encapsulates the significance of vocational development. In non-vocational studies, students frequently delve into a wide range of topics for hours. They spend a lot of time in the library and on computers performing research and producing papers that help students continue to expand their theoretical knowledge in a range of subjects. Thus, their class time is typically limited to a few hours per week. Even within their field of expertise, they frequently dedicate a substantial amount of time to study the theories, concepts and practices employed by other experts in the field. They have a lot less chance to implement these concepts. This paper focuses on how the School Education Department in Uttarakhand is implementing Vocational Education in their schools through an innovative program, “Kaushalam”.
