Abstract

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming library services across educational institutions, including academic universities and K-12 school libraries. This research explores how AI can catalyze the development of emotional intelligence (EI) and academic competencies among library professionals. The study examines AI technologies -including sentiment analysis, personalized learning platforms, virtual simulation training, and data analytics -alongside emotional intelligence dimensions encompassing empathy, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills. Through an integrated review of literature, case studies, and frameworks, this research demonstrates how library professionals can leverage AI to enhance professional resilience, adaptability, and service quality while addressing critical ethical considerations, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, and equitable access. Findings indicate that when thoughtfully implemented, AI and EI work synergistically to create more adaptable, empathetic, and practical library professionals.
