The author explores and reveals the need for a curriculum for self-esteem at secol1dary school level. By citing a good number of studies he presents a many associated variables with self-esteem. By side he puts the results of an empirical study also. The study focuses on the measurement of the self-esteem among secondary school students ofMalappuram district of Kerala with a special focus on rural schools. For the same he has selected 111 rural secondary school students as sample, upon whom the investigator administered the self-esteem inventory of Rosenberg (1989). The study reveals the importance of self-esteem among students and suggests the formulation of a curriculum based on self-esteem or one having a clear priority for the same that exerts a clear force in the development of personality of learners.
